Through an emphasis on international studies, cultural literacy, and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, students at The Magnet School of Global Studies & Leadership  become the innovators and leaders in the complex, culturally diverse, and rapidly changing global community. Teachers use instructional methods, including Socratic Seminar, Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Inquiry-Based Learning, to guide students through hands-on experiences that emphasize global citizenship and studying STEM. Instruction emphasizes and builds proficiency in the cornerstones of 21st Century Learning – creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking – as students work together to research and debate worldwide events and issues before proposing, designing, and constructing targeted solutions. Students  use multimedia and computer technology as tools to gather, organize, analyze, and create digital content and as platforms to communicate with partners across the globe.  As a pre-K through 8th grade school, PS/IS 200 our students learn to support each other. Our student government, composed of elected student officials from all grades, model democratic leadership and are a key voice in the development of student programming around the global students and leadership theme.

Our school is small which allows the faculty, staff students and families to know and grow with each other. It is in this nurturing environment that our student thrive.
